When looking for a new manual lens for your camera you have probably stumbled over some uncommon lens “manufacturers” like Samyang, Bower, Walimex, Falcon, etc. Those “manufacturers” are not all original equipment manufacturers (OEM). Most of them are just re-branding the lenses and selling them under their name. And in case of lenses by the korean manufacturer Samyang (English site, Polish site, Spanish site) this is quite interesting. Because Samyang lenses are not only available by a lot of resellers, but also by Samyang itself. This makes it more difficult to find reviews and other resources for those lenses, because those reviews are sometimes labelled with the name of a reseller and sometimes with the name of the OEM. Here at MirrorlessDB those reviews are all listed by the Samyang lens. An example for this is the Samyang 8mm f/2.8 ED AS IF UMC Fisheye.

This can be helpful when searching for a second camera body, so you don’t have to take care of two chargers and two sets of batteries when travelling. Or if you going to upgrade your camera and want to keep your old batteries and chargers.
